Top daily fantasy football tight end plays for Week 13

With Week 13 of the NFL season upon us, we take a look at some of the best tight end values to be found on FanDuel and some players worth fading.

Welcome to Week 13 of the Daily Fantasy season. Pricing has stabilized as trends have emerged but there are still bargains to be found and even some higher-priced options that will go under-owned and can make a difference in your lineups. This article looks at some of the projected lesser-owned plays at tight end who could provide huge boosts to your tournament lineups, as well as some trap plays to avoid.

PLAY

Vernon Davis $4,600 (Washington at Arizona Cardinals)

It is all lining up beautifully for Davis to go to town against an old divisional foe. With Jordan Reed out and Tyrann Mathieu doubtful, the stage is set for Davis to get all the snaps as the pass-catching tight end against a defense weakened considerably over the middle. Davis has found a home in Washington, with four straight double-digit FanDuel scoring games recently and seven more targets against Dallas on Thanksgiving. Kirk Cousins doesn’t care who lines up a tight end, he’s looking their way all the time. Davis is priced way too low for the volume of targets he should see in this one.

Jimmy Graham $6,400 (Seattle Seahawks vs. Carolina Panthers)

Graham gets the same dream scenario as Davis, as the Panthers will be missing linebacker Luke Keuchly and strong safety Kurt Coleman. Graham should have his way with whomever replaces those two, and with Tyler Eifert priced just above and Travis Kelce just below, Graham’s ownership could be down from where it ought to be for such a juicy matchup.

Eric Ebron $5,700 (Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints)

We don’t know why Ebron got one target on Thanksgiving Day and we don’t care. All that matters is that the Lions face the Saints in the Superdome and the ball will be in the air all day. Let’s go out on a limb and suggest that Ebron will catch a few of them. He should be criminally under-owned after his Thanksgiving turkey, and that’s just fine with us.

Zach Ertz $5,300 (Philadelphia Eagles at Cincinnati Bengals)

The Bengals have really struggled against the tight end position this year, and that should be enough for the mercurial Ertz to have himself a solid game. Every other week for the past five weeks, Ertz has alternated good games with bad and this week he’s due for one of the good ones in that pattern. Did we mention the Bengals struggle against tight ends?

Ladarius Green $4,500 (Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Giants)

Squeaky wheel alert! That’s not entirely fair, as Green isn’t the one who talked about getting more targets this week. It was head coach Mike Tomlin who came out and said he plans to get Green more involved, and when that happens, the guy usually gets more involved (unless you’re Isaiah Crowell). Green had looked pretty good since coming back from whatever truly was wrong with him most of the season, and that’s what matters now. He is priced at the industry minimum and opens up all sorts of roster flexibility with some upside to boot.

NAY

Greg Olsen $6,200 (Panthers at Seahawks)

Super Bowl hangovers are not uncommon, and this has just been a wipeout of a season for the Panthers. Olsen has been one of the bigger disappointments, as he and Cam Newton have not rekindled the magic of 2015 at all. We’re not expected that to change on the road in Seattle this week, not for $6,200, anyway.

Martellus Bennett $5,100 (New England Patriots vs. Los Angeles Rams)

The news that Rob Gronkowski is out indefinitely should be great news for Bennett, but let’s be honest, outside of that one game against Cleveland in Tom Brady’s return, Bennett has been a big bust at the position, even when Gronk hasn’t played. Bennett has his own injury issues with a bad ankle and should be avoided until he shows he’s going to be someone Brady wants to rely on. Right now, he just isn’t.
