We are finally done with the bye weeks and the fantasy playoffs have arrived (unless you’re in shallower leagues that don’t have a first-round bye). The waiver wire will mostly be an afterthought from here on out, as owners should be riding the top starters that got them to this point.
Fantasy football waiver wire: 4 tight ends to target for Week 14
Finding the right tight end is more important than ever with the playoffs here.

That being said, some owners aren’t quite lucky and might still have to utilize the wire to fill out their rosters. The players on this list are either short-term streaming options, or potential 2017 contributors if you play in a keeper or dynasty league.
C.J. Fiedorowicz, Houston Texans (40 percent)
The Texans were playing in a blizzard at Lambeau Field, so their passing game went even more into the tank than usual. Still, Fiedorowicz got his numbers with six catches for 44 yards. As Brock Osweiler’s safety blanket, Fiedorowicz has a stable fantasy floor, but almost no upside to speak of. He’ll be a borderline TE1 the rest of the way.
Vernon Davis, Washington (37 percent)
Filling in for Jordan Reed, Davis had a mostly quiet day but still finished with five catches for 47 yards. Fantasy owners will have to check on Reed’s status, but he’s uncertain to return, keeping Davis on the radar for now. The Philadelphia Eagles are tough against tight ends, but Davis did record 50 yards and a touchdown against them in Week 6.
Dennis Pitta, Baltimore Ravens (33 percent)
Pitta finally found the end zone this season, scoring two touchdowns while adding nine catches and 90 yards against the Miami Dolphins. It was a performance that came pretty much out of nowhere — Davis has been catching passes but doing nothing with them, clearing 50 yards just three times this year. Fantasy owners should be wary of chasing stats, so Pitta is a risky investment against the New England Patriots this week.
Ladarius Green, Pittsburgh Steelers (23 percent)
Welcome back, Green. After an ankle injury delayed his season debut to Week 10, Green’s been slow to pick up the Steelers’ offense and played sparingly. However, he made his presence felt when he exploded for six catches, 110 yards, and a touchdown against the New York Giants. It offered just a glimpse of what Green is capable of when working with Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell, and Antonio Brown. The Steelers are a dangerous team when all four players are clicking. If Green keeps this production up, he could be a league-winner in fantasy. The Steelers get the Buffalo Bills.
