Tight end Tyler Eifert announced Wednesday that he will be returning to limited practice for the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Bengals’ beat writer Paul Dehner Jr. This is Eifert’s first practice since offseason ankle surgery. The fourth-year TE suffered an ankle injury in the Pro Bowl and has not practiced since the playoffs in January. The Bengals have not given any timelines for Eifert’s return to full practice or game action. The Pro Bowler had the most touchdowns of any TE in 2015, even though he missed three games of the regular season.

Fantasy Impact: Eifert’s return to even limited practice is big news for the Bengals. It shows that the 6’6, 255-pound TE is making progress as Cincinnati brings him back slowly from ankle surgery. Though there is no word on when Eifert will officially return, we anticipate he will be back in action sometime in October. Given his 2015 production, Eifert is worth snatching off of waivers now, if he is still available.
