Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Caroll confirmed Monday on 710 ESPN Seattle radio that starting quarterback Russell Wilson sprained his left knee in the team’s Week 3 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Wilson left the division meeting during the third quarter with what appeared to be another ankle injury and did not return. However, he remained on the sideline and available to return. Russell had an MRI Monday to confirm the sprain.
Wilson’s status for Week 4 against the New York Jets is unknown. Carroll said told 710 ESPN’s Brady Henderson there is some consideration about sitting Wilson in Week 4, but said the Pro Bowler “feels great” and is excited to work through this latest setback.
Fantasy Impact: Wilson is getting beat up this season. He came into Week 3 battling a high-ankle sprain in his right leg. Now, he has an MCL sprain in his left leg. The Seahawks may give some thought to sitting Wilson Sunday to rest.
The team has a bye in Week 5. It is very early to make that call, but owners should keep an eye on Wilson as a possible late scratch.
