Fantasy football projections, Week 4: Dolphins-Bengals featuring Jarvis Landry, Jeremy Hill, A.J. Green, more

The Week 4 matchup between the Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals could go right down to the wire. We’ve got the fantasy projections courtesy of numberFire.

The Miami Dolphins were lucky to escape last week’s game against the Cleveland Browns with a victory. Browns kicker Cody Parkey missed a potential game-winning field goal at the end of regulation, allowing Miami to win it in overtime. Running back Jay Ajayi scored the winning touchdown, but wide receiver Jarvis Landry was the star of the show. He caught seven passes for 120 yards and a touchdown.

Landry now has at least seven catches and 10 targets in each game this season. He’s an absolute juggernaut in PPR formats, and his No. 1 receiver status will remain intact this week against Cincinnati.

Landry will be catching passes from quarterback Ryan Tannehill all afternoon long. Tannehill is far from an elite fantasy quarterback, but he has managed to throw for over 300 yards and at least two touchdown passes in back-to-back games.

The hurdle Tannehill and his owners must overcome is his penchant for turning the ball over. He has thrown four interceptions in the last two weeks and also lost a fumble. The good news is Cincinnati ranks in the bottom three in the NFL when it comes to giving up fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.

Cincinnati fell behind in the second half of last week’s loss to the Denver Broncos. That really hampered the running game, but not before Jeremy Hill broke out in the first half. He found the end zone twice and ended up with 97 yards rushing on 17 carries. Much of his production was thanks to a single 50-yard run and two opportunities to score near the goal line.

Splitting touches with teammate Giovani Bernard handcuffs Hill’s ceiling. Fantasy owners can only hope that last week’s performance is a sign of things to come. At the same time, it’s important to note that Hill ran for just 53 total yards in the team’s first two games of the season.

The best bet for top-notch fantasy production comes from a familiar face in the team’s receiving game. That familiar face is A.J. Green. After being virtually shut down by the Pittsburgh Steelers two weeks ago, Green managed to corral eight out of 11 targets for 77 yards.

In PPR formats he still made fantasy owners happy, but he is not in top form just yet. The good news is Cincinnati has had a tough schedule to start the season, and things should open up more for Green as teams like Miami, Dallas, Cleveland, and Washington pop up on the schedule.
