Welcome to the Wild Card playoff round of the Daily Fantasy season. Playoff DFS presents its own challenges with limited player pools and more defined roles for starters. That said, there are still plenty of value opportunities across all positions. This article looks at some of the projected lesser-owned plays at running back who could provide huge boosts to your tournament lineups, as well as some trap plays to avoid.
Top daily fantasy football running back plays for Wild Card weekend
With Wild Card weekend upon us, we take a look at some of the best running back values to be found on FanDuel and some players worth fading.

PLAY
Jay Ajayi $8,300 (Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers)
First off, if you can make Le’Veon Bell work in your lineups at $10,300, of course fire him up. But know that he will be highly owned, so if for some reason (injury, falls into space/time wormhole, etc.) Bell doesn’t have a huge day and you fade him, you are already WAY ahead of the field. The best pivot is in the same game. Ajayi torched the Steelers in the regular season and the Dolphins will want to hide Matt Moore as much as possible. At $8,300, he’s hardly cheap, and that might keep his ownership way down. He’s a tournament gem who could win you big money if the Dolphins can hang in this game.
Lamar Miller $7,100 (Houston Texans vs. Oakland Raiders)
We haven’t seen Miller for a couple of weeks, which is great for two reasons: He’s had a lot of time to heal up, and he’s off the DFS radar. The Texans will look to use their premier back a ton in this one, as Brock Osweiler is under center and can’t be trusted to lead the team. Miller can, and if he’s truly healthy, he could go off against a leaky Oakland defense.
Latavius Murray $6,700 (Raiders at Texans)
Oakland is another team looking to hide its quarterback, and Murray has shown the ability to carry the offense when the carries are there. He figures to be low-owned, even at his discounted price, but that’s because he comes with a lot of risk. If you’re willing to roll the dice, Murray could be a game-changer in real life and DFS.
NAY
Zach Zenner $6,200 (Detroit Lions at Seattle Seahawks)
Love the guy, but it seems like he’s going to be super highly owned, and he’s facing a legit defense on the road in a game where his talents as a runner might get shelved playing from behind. It’s a recipe for tournament disaster.
