Fantasy football waiver wire: Best quarterbacks available in Week 6

We are entering the middle grind of the fantasy football season. With the bye weeks in full force and the injuries continuing to pile up, the waiver wire is more important than ever in this stretch of the season.

Week 5 was another bad day for injuries, but at least the quarterback position escaped relatively unscathed. With Marcus Mariota and Derek Carr both expected to return next week, fantasy owners can breathe a sigh of relief.

This week’s bye teams are the Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, and Seattle Seahawks. That means Andy Dalton, Tyrod Taylor, Dak Prescott, and Russell Wilson won’t be available, it’s going to be another week of diving for streamers. Here are the top quarterback options owned in 50 percent or less of Yahoo! leagues.

Goff faced his biggest test yet against the Seattle Seahawks’ Legion of Boom. He didn’t exactly pass, completing just 22 of 47 passes for 288 yards and committing three turnovers. It’s a step back after his big performances against the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, but Goff should bounce back to QB2 value and will be a viable streamer during the bye weeks. He’ll have another tough challenge when the Rams play the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6.

Siemian has been quiet in his past two games, throwing just one touchdown to two interceptions. He’s settling back in to his low-floor fantasy days and has yet to clear the 300-yard mark this season. With the Broncos coming off their bye, Siemian will once again be on the streaming radar, though fantasy owners should be aware of his limited ceiling. He gets the New York Giants this week.

The good news is that Bradford is finally making his way back from a knee injury, which kept him out since the season opener. The bad news is that he doesn’t have Dalvin Cook anymore, and the Vikings offense is in big trouble without their star running back. Still, Bradford lit up the stat sheet the last time he played, so he’ll be a borderline QB1 when the Vikings face the Green Bay Packers in a potential shootout.

Brissett took a while to get going, but eventually he filled up the stat sheet with 314 yards and a running touchdown in an overtime win over the 49ers. Brissett has shown both his fantasy ceiling and floor this season, and his window will close pretty soon with Andrew Luck’s return imminent. Still, Brissett will be a relevant streamer for at least a few more weeks, with his running ability raising his fantasy outlook. He’ll have another good matchup with the Tennessee Titans this week.
