Since losing tight end Greg Olsen for the season in Week 2, wideout Devin Funchess has stepped up big time for the Carolina Panthers. Funchess has had 50-plus receiving yards in every game and has scored at least once the last two weeks. He leads all receivers in targets, catches, and touchdowns. Funchess has also been quarterback Cam Newton’s top red zone target of late.
Fantasy football, Week 6: Devin Funchess, start or sit for TNF?
Funchess eyes another big week with Philadelphia coming to town. We look at the fantasy impact.

Thursday Funchess and the Panthers face a Philadelphia Eagles defense that is the third worst passing defense in the league. Funchess has been battling a knee injury, however, that should not slow him down much in this great matchup. The Eagles have given up 1,033 yards to opposing receivers. That is the most yards allowed to wideouts in the NFL.
Fantasy impact: If Funchess can play he should have a good, if not great game. The Eagles’ pass defense is nonexistent and Funchess should be able to carve them up especially in the red zone. Owners want to keep an eye on Funchess’ knee injury. If he gets the green light to play, Funchess could be one of the top receivers this week.
