Here we are for another week of fantasy rankings! Carson Wentz had a great game in Week 5. The additions that Philadelphia has made to its offense has helped him take his game to another level. He passed for a career-best four touchdowns against Arizona. In addition, he threw for over 300 yards for the third time this season. Wentz faces a tough test in Week 6 on a short week. He’ll go up against a Carolina defense that held Tom Brady and Drew Brees to 21 fantasy points a piece. If I needed a bye week replacement, I wouldn’t be worried about rolling with Wentz.
Fantasy football rankings 2017: Quarterbacks for NFL Week 6
Here are our fantasy football quarterback rankings for Week 6.

Deshaun Watson is on a hot streak. After throwing four touchdowns the previous week, Watson threw for five touchdowns in Week 5. His performance was even more impressive because it came against the tough Chiefs defense. Look for his high-scoring streak to continue in Week 6 against Cleveland. The Browns defense is in the bottom five of opponents touchdown percentage this season.
Bye weeks continue this week with Buffalo, Cincinnati, Dallas and Seattle. That means we’ll be without Tyrod Taylor, Andy Dalton, Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson. Losing Wilson and Prescott are the biggest blows. They’re two of the top 10 fantasy quarterbacks this season. Taylor and Dalton have struggled at times but have provided a few quality fantasy starts. Alex Smith and Carson Palmer should be looked at as bye week replacements.
The quarterback injuries continued in Week 5. Matthew Stafford’s ankle and quad areas were heavily taped, which may indicate the areas that were injured. He played through it and led the Lions to two touchdown drives. Keep an eye on the Wednesday injury report. Andy Dalton is on bye but he did suffer an ankle sprain and will probably be day-to-day.
Marcus Mariota suffered a hamstring injury in Week 4 and wasn’t able to play in Week 5. The Titans don’t play until Monday night in Week 6, which makes it a tough call without a backup plan. Picking up Jacoby Brissett would let you wait to make your pick. Tennessee might choose to let Mariota recover for one more week with bigger games ahead.
The Andrew Luck watch continues. Conflicting reports continue to come out. Some think he’ll be ready to start before the end of October. Others state that he’ll be out until mid-November or later. Brissett remains the starter in the meantime.
Two quarterbacks that have a good chance of playing in Week 6 are Derek Carr and Sam Bradford. Carr probably could have played in Week 5 but the team wanted him to recover for another week. He’ll probably be heavily padded but should start in Week 6. Bradford did start in Week 5 against the Chicago but looked very uncomfortable. Minnesota says he did aggravate his knee injury on a hit. He’s questionable for Week 6 and the team may play it safe by starting Case Keenum.
My sleeper pick for Week 6 is Carson Wentz. He’s in the top ten fantasy quarterbacks this season because of his strong performances. I like that Philadelphia has been able to remain balanced offensively. That has helped Wentz to rely on his teammates and look comfortable. Carolina will be a test but I expect a good performance out of the Eagles. I think Wentz will pass for 275 yards and two touchdowns.
