The Philadelphia Eagles have had a rotating cast at running back all season, with LeGarrette Blount, Wendell Smallwood, and Corey Clement all seeing playing time. Smallwood was expected to play a bigger role when Darren Sproles went down with a season-ending ACL tear, but he hasn’t seized the job.
Fantasy football start/sit: What to do with Wendell Smallwood on ‘TNF’
Smallwood is dealing with a knee injury that kept him out of Week 5. We break down the fantasy implications.

Through four games, Smallwood has just 29 carries for 113 yards and a touchdown, adding seven catches for 56 yards. Making matters worse is that he picked up a knee injury that sidelined him in Week 5. Smallwood didn’t practice at all this week and is listed as questionable for Thursday night’s contest against the Carolina Panthers.
Fantasy impact: Even if he’s active, Smallwood can’t be used in fantasy lineups as he recovers from the knee injury. Blount will continue being used as the lead back with Smallwood and Clement spelling him. Despite some natural talent, Smallwood has yet to really make a big impact in his two-year NFL career.
Recommendation: Sit
