Looking at the waiver wire this week there are slim pickings at all of the skill player positions. Still, there are some deep gems that owners should have their eyes on if they are looking to get through injuries or the bye week stretch unscathed. So which quarterbacks should owners consider picking up this week? With favorable Week 6 matchups on the horizon, these are the best available quarterbacks to claim right now.

Jacoby Brissett, Indianapolis Colts (20 percent)
Brissett is getting better every week as he gets more comfortable with the Colts’ offense. In Week 5, Brissett completed 22 passes for 314 yards and an interception and rushed eight times for 14 yards and a touchdown. Monday night Brissett will have an easy matchup against the Tennessee Titans. The Titans have the second-worst defense in the league. At this point, Brissett could be the starter in Indianapolis for the remainder of the season. He has stream appeal this week and is worth stashing for favorable matchups in the future.
Trevor Siemian, Denver Broncos (41 percent)
Siemian could not have asked for a better matchup coming off his bye week. The Broncos host the New York Giants Sunday. The Giants have given up 10 touchdowns and only have two interceptions against opposing QBs. This matchup should give Siemian’s confidence a boost. He struggled in Week 3, throwing two interceptions against the Buffalo Bills, but he started to make a turn around in Week 4 against the Oakland Raiders with 179 yards, a touchdown, and no turnovers. Siemian could have a big fantasy output this week and is worth the start in all leagues.
Josh McCown, New York Jets (7 percent)
McCown has played efficiently through the Jets’ three-game winning streak. Week 5, McCown completed 23 of 30 passes for 194 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the win over the Cleveland Browns. In the last three games, McCown has completed over 70 percent of his passes. Sunday, McCown has a great matchup against the New England Patriots. The Patriots have the worse passing defense in the NFL. He will also likely need to pass a lot to keep up with the Patriots’ high-scoring offense. McCown is a great streamer this week, especially for deep leagues.
