Derek Carr was far from 100 percent when he returned to the field for the Oakland Raiders in Week 6, playing through a traverse process fracture in his back. Carr threw for 171 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions on 21 passes in the loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Fantasy football Week 7: Start or sit Derek Carr for ‘TNF’?
Playing with a back fracture it will be hard for owners to trust Carr in fantasy this week.

Carr was visibly timid in the passing game, throwing mostly check-down passes. His longest completion of the game was a 23-yard touchdown to Michael Crabtree. Carr injured his back in Week 4 against the Denver Broncos and sat out of the Raiders’ Week 5 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Things get much harder for Carr when the Raiders host division rivals Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have a sack against five out of the six opposing QBs they have faced this season. They have 15 sacks and five interceptions so far this season.
Fantasy impact: Carr cannot play timid against the Chiefs’ front rush Thursday night or he will have a very rough evening. The Chiefs’ defense does not play lights out, however, they are very well equipped to exploit a QB playing hurt. Since Carr’s issue is a back fracture, one sack could be disastrous for him. The Chiefs only had one game without a sack so far this season. Until he is fully healthy, Carr will be hard to trust in fantasy.
