The Oakland Raiders have tried to get tight end Jared Cook involved in the offense this season, however, he has been only a quiet contributor so far. Cook has five or more targets in every game except Week 6, but only had five receptions the first game of the season. He has just one game with over 50 yards receiving and he has scored exactly one touchdown so far this season. He has also struggled to hold onto the ball with several drops and a lost fumble in Week 5. Sunday, Cook had a season-low two catches on three targets for 14 yards.
Fantasy football start/sit, Week 7: What to do with Jared Cook for TNF
Struggling to get things going in Oakland, Cook’s fantasy woes will continue Thursday night against Kansas City.

Cook is looking at another slow night Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have not given up a touchdown to a tight end yet this season, but they have allowed 391 receiving yards to opposing big men. Still, only two tight ends, Zach Ertz and Vernon Davis, have over 45 receiving yards vs. the Chiefs.
Fantasy impact: There is nothing exciting about Cook in Oakland’s offense at this point even though the Raiders have given him a lot of looks. Cook is tied with Michael Crabtree for No. 2 in targets with 34 through six games and is second on the team in receptions and receiving yards. However, Cook has not done much when gets the ball, averaging right around 35 yards per game. Cook’s fantasy outlook is too bleak to have in the lineup Thursday night.
