Shopping the waivers for tight ends is a weekly occurrence for some owners. The tight end position is rather thin this season especially after some of the elite tight ends went down earlier. Other big men, like Martellus Bennett and Cameron Brate, will have a new QB under center and that can come completely change their momentum as well. The tight position is completely up in the air as usual.
Fantasy football, Week 7: Best players available at tight end in waivers, free agency
These back up tight ends are in a position to have a good fantasy week and are sitting on waivers in most leagues.

If your passing options look suspect of a sudden, relax, there is still a way you can get a win this weekend. There are waiver dives out there that can fill the voids on your team for at least this Sunday and maybe more. Looking at the best matchups and streaming options in Week 7, here are the best available players at tight end on the wire.
Austin Hooper, Atlanta Falcons (57 percent)
The last two games Hooper saw a lot more action with teammate Mohammed Sanu mostly on the sideline with a hamstring injury. Hooper had a career-high seven catches on nine targets for 48 yards in the loss to the Miami Dolphins. The yardage was meh, but through two games Hooper has 16 targets with at least five catches for around 50 yards. This week he gets a gem matchup against the New England Patriots who have given up five touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season. Hooper has a good shot of getting into the end zone this week and if he gets another 50 yards with it that is not too bad for a tight end owned in under 60 percent of the leagues on Yahoo! Sports.
Nick O’Leary, Buffalo Bills (2 percent)
The Bills are down to a handful of passing options and with TE Charles Clay out for multiple weeks after tearing his meniscus. In Week 6, O’Leary, filling in after Clay went down, caught five passes for 54 yards in the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. He has a good chance to have another 50-yard plus game and maybe even find the end zone this week against Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers gave up touchdowns to opposing tight ends in the past two games. O’Leary looks pretty good on waivers this week knowing he will see the ball a lot against a weak defense.
Ed Dickson, Carolina Panthers (41 percent)
The Panthers are on pins and needles to get Greg Olsen back but Dickson is doing a good job filling a very big hole Olsen left behind. Dickson caught everyone’s attention when he went off for 175 yards on five catches in Week 5. He came way back down to earth in Week 6 with four catches for 36 yards, but he had a noticeable eight targets in the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Sunday Dickson should rebound against the Bears. The last two tight ends that faced the Bears combined for 12 catches, 73 yards, and a touchdown.
