The Los Angeles Rams’ 2017 season has gone much better than expected. Thanks to the guidance of new head coach Sean McVay, the Rams are 4-2 and in first place in the NFC West. Quarterback Jared Goff has also seen some big steps in his development after a disastrous rookie season.
Fantasy football start/sit Week 7: What to do with Jared Goff
Goff’s run into a slump after a hot start to the season. We break down the fantasy implications.

Yet despite all the positive steps, Goff isn’t a finished product yet. He’s hit a major slump in recent weeks, throwing for two interceptions to just one touchdown in his last two games. Last week’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars was a big struggle for Goff, who finished with just 11-of-21 passing for 124 yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy impact: This week, the Rams take on the Arizona Cardinals, who are still in the division picture at 3-3. Their defense is giving up the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, which makes this an interesting matchup, but Goff’s fantasy ceiling has dropped off quite a bit. The Rams figure to keep feeding Todd Gurley and avoid exposing Goff if they can help it. He’s only a serious option in two-quarterback leagues at this point.
Recommendation: Start if you’re desperate
