Week 6 of the fantasy football season is here, and we’re back with another crop of start/sit options. We have a nice set of data about each team through six weeks, and can make informed decisions on good plays and traps. With that in mind, we’ll pick quarterbacks who should exceed expectations in Week 7, along with three you should probably sit.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 7: Tight ends
We break down the top starting options at tight end this week, along with some players who should be avoided.

Start
With Stefon Diggs ruled out of Sunday’s game, those targets have to go somewhere. Certainly Adam Thielen will get a big boost, but the other beneficiary should be Rudolph, who has nine targets in each of his past two games, both his season high. The Ravens have been getting killed lately by opposing tight ends, so the timing is right for a potential double-digit target game, in terms of generating fantasy points.
The torch has been passed. Now that Antonio Gates has his tight end records taken care of, the Chargers have finally gotten serious about the position. Henry had 10 targets total through four games as Gates was accepting his lifetime achievement awards. In the past two games, Henry has 15 targets and has scored twice in the past three games. Evan Engram torched the Broncos last week without any legit wide receiver weapons around him. Henry has those, and he has the undivided attention of his quarterback.
We may never know what exactly happened on that touchdown overrule last week. My deepest sympathies for any ASJ owners who lost a close game last week because that touchdown was wiped off the board. But that should not take away from the reality that Seferian-Jenkins has become the man in this passing game. His targets have increased each of the past three weeks (4-8-11) and though the yards are not big, he is getting in the end zone (sorry).
Sit
As we said last week, when Willie Snead is active, Fleener is written out of the game plan. Snead returned last week, and Fleener had one target in a game his team scored 52 points. It’s over. Cut this man if you haven’t already.
Martellus Bennett, Packers vs. Saints
Maybe Bennett and Brett Hundley are going to develop a chemistry that never fully formed with Aaron Rodgers. Maybe. Last week, as Hundley struggled to get his game legs under him, Bennett was targeted four times and didn’t do much with them. Maybe with a full week of practice things will be different. Maybe. But I don’t think you can gamble on that with your lineup.
The 49ers’ pass defense is actually really good over the middle. Slot receivers have had limited success this season and tight ends have been completely shut down. The 49ers have not allowed a single touchdown and last week was the best game a tight end has had all season, when Jordan Reed put up a 4/37. That was the most catches and most yards. No thanks.
