Javious Allen led the Baltimore Ravens in targets and receptions Sunday, but he finished the game with just 29 yards receiving and 20 yards rushing on six carries. Week 7 was Allen’s third game under 50 total yards from scrimmage this season. He only has one game with 100 total yards so far this year.
Fantasy football start/sit advice Week 8: What to do with Javorius Allen for TNF
Allen is seeing a high volume of targets out of the backfield, but he is still not very fantasy relevant. Here’s why.

Allen should see a lot of targets again this week when the Ravens host the Miami Dolphins. The Ravens’ top receivers, Mike Wallace, Jeremy Maclin, and Breshad Perriman, are questionable to play dealing with various injuries. Tight end Ben Watson has been battling injuries as well. The Dolphins’ defense is ranked 12th against the pass, but they have allowed a league-high 71 percent pass completions.
Fantasy impact: Allen’s stats so far this season are a reflection of how bad the Ravens’ backfield really is. Allen looks to be the backup rusher behind Alex Collins, but he is one the best receiving options on the team this week. In PPR leagues, he may have some flex appeal, but beyond that, Allen does not offer much for owners this week against the Dolphins.
