Chris Hogan is not the first name you think of when the New England Patriots and receiving touchdowns come to mind, however, Hogan is the current touchdown reception leader for the team. Hogan has four touchdowns so far this season to go with 214 yards on 15 receptions. He also has 26 targets, a tie for second on the team with running back James White.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 5: What to do with Chris Hogan on ‘Thursday Night Football’
Touchdowns keep Hogan’s fantasy potential high as the Patriots get ready for Tampa Bay Thursday night.

Hogan is used a lot of ways on the Patriots offense and that should not change Thursday night. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense is rather exceptional, however, they are missing four key defenders in the middle. Linebackers Kwon Alexander and Lavonte David and safeties T.J. Ward and Keith Tandy could all be out for the Bucs in Week 5.
Fantasy impact: Hogan is a classic example of next man up in New England. The Patriots can’t buy a win, but they still have one of the most explosive offenses in the league. Since the bigger-name receivers are having a tough time connecting with QB Tom Brady, Hogan is stepping up to fill the void. He has at least four catches, 60 yards, and a touchdown in the last three games. If he plays out of the slot a lot against Tampa Bay, he could have a big week exploiting second-string defenders.
