Running back Chris Thompson was a ghost for Washington in Week 9 versus the Seattle Seahawks. Thompson is the top receiver for Washington, but he was held to just four catches for 11 yards in the win. He also had four carries for 20 yards. Sunday was Thompson’s worst game since Week 4 when he only collected 27 total yards against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Fantasy football start/sit advice Week 10: What to do with Chris Thompson Sunday
Washington’s dual threat was quiet in Week 9. Can he bounce back Sunday against Minnesota? We look at the fantasy impact.

Thompson will have a tough time trying to rebound at home against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings have shutdown opposing running backs all season, allowing the second-fewest rushing yards and sixth-fewest receiving yards to the position. They are also tied with the Cincinnati Bengals for fewest touchdowns allowed to RBs this season.
Fantasy impact: Thompson is usually a great fantasy play, especially in PPR leagues. Unfortunately, Seattle was able to shut him down in Week 9 and Minnesota is highly likely to do the same Sunday. Thompson always gets a lot of targets in the passing game, but he continues to get out-touched by Rob Kelley in the run game. The Vikings defend well against both. Save Thompson for better matchups in the future.
