When the New England Patriots traded for wide receiver Brandin Cooks in the offseason, it was natural to get excited about his upside. After two healthy, productive seasons with the New Orleans Saints, Cooks was now playing with Tom Brady and operating as the clear No. 1 receiver. Sky’s the limit, right?
Fantasy football start/sit advice Week 11: What to do with Brandin Cooks
Cooks has been more hit-and-miss than expected in New England. We break down the fantasy implications.

While Cooks is still good, his fantasy output hasn’t quite skyrocketed as expected. Through nine games, he has only 39 catches for 637 yards and three touchdowns, although Cooks is averaging a career-high 16.3 yards per catch. He’s settled in as more of a boom-or-bust type player who hasn’t reached the 100-yard mark since Week 3.
Fantasy impact: Despite the relatively disappointing production, Cooks remains a high-end talent who’s worth starting most weeks. He gets a good matchup with the Oakland Raiders this week and should continue seeing more targets with Chris Hogan expected to miss another week. He’s trending into WR2 territory this week.
Recommendation: Start
