The Oakland Raiders brought back Marshawn Lynch from retirement to serve as their lead running back. Lynch has shown flashes of his old self, but for the most part he’s reminding people that he’s a 30-year-old back who hasn’t played football since 2015.
Fantasy football start/sit Week 11: What to do with Marshawn Lynch
Lynch has been disappointing this season before putting up a productive game in Week 10. We break down the fantasy implications.

Through eight games, Lynch has 86 carries for just 323 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 3.8 yards per carry. He also was suspended for one game after making contact with an official. It’s been a disappointing ride, but Lynch did show signs of life in Week 10. He scored two touchdowns and had 57 yards on 14 carries against the Miami Dolphins.
Fantasy impact: We’ll probably never see prime Beast Mode again, and the Raiders are still trying to limit his touches — he hasn’t seen more than 14 carries since Week 1. Lynch’s main fantasy value at this point is his short-yardage and goal-line usage, which is just barely enough to make him an RB2/flex against the New England Patriots this week. New England’s defense is improved, but it’s still giving up the sixth-most fantasy points to running backs.
