Week 11 of the fantasy football season is here, and we’re back with another crop of start/sit options. We have a nice set of data about each team through six weeks, and can make informed decisions on good plays and traps. With that in mind, we’ll pick running backs who should exceed expectations in Week 11, along with three you should probably sit.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 11 Running backs
We break down the top starting options at running back this week, along with some players who should be avoided.

Start
For the past three weeks, the Dolphins defense has been a running back’s best friend. In Week 8, rookie Alex Collins exploded for 113 yards. In Week 9, Marshawn Lynch went Beast Mode in Miami with 63 yards and two touchdowns. Last week, Jonathan Stewart had his best game of 2017 with 110 yards. Doug Martin is due for a big performance and the coaches said this week they want to emphasize the running game. Giddy up!
In Week 9, coming off the bye week (14 days rest) and looking to hide quarterback Drew Stanton, the Cardinals handed the ball to AP 37 times. Thirty-seven! He responded with 159 yards in a win over the 49ers. The Cardinals have now been away for 10 days and they’re looking to hide Blaine Gabbert against a sagging Texans defense. You know what to do.
With Chris Hogan out of the lineup last week, Burkhead had 10 carries and caught a touchdown pass. The week before, when Hogan was injured, Burkhead had seven targets in the passing game. Hogan is out again this week, so Burkhead’s role is solidified. Dion Lewis is also an excellent play, but Burkhead is the preferred choice in PPR leagues.
Sit
The rookie continues to have issues with the ankle that caused him to miss Week 7. He’s on the record as not being a fan of playing in cold weather, and conditions are going to be a bit brisk in Cleveland on Sunday. And the Browns only do one thing well, and that’s stop the run. Check Fournette’s status Sunday morning, but even if he’s active, you might want to take a pass here.
Mixon owners (like myself) have been teased by his potential all season. But the reality is, he only has one game with more than 60 yards rushing. He only has one game with more than 40 yards receiving. He only has three touchdowns. And this week, he gets a tough run defense on the road. The breakout game hasn’t happened yet, there’s no reason to expect it this week.
Cowboys’ left tackle Tyron Smith is listed as questionable, but isn’t expected to play. That’s a huge blow to the offense and lowers Morris’ already shaky floor. Rod Smith is a much better option with his ability in the passing game. Morris is about as touchdown dependent as it gets.
