The Buffalo Bills made a last-minute trade deal with the Carolina Panthers Monday afternoon to acquire wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin for the Bills’ third- and seventh-round 2018 draft picks. The trade surprised many in the league, however, Bills head coach Sean McDermott and GM Brandon Beane are both very familiar with Benjamin from their days with Panthers. Benjamin is expected to join the Bills and immediately take over as the No. 1 receiver in a corps that can truly use the help.
Fantasy football Week 9: Start or sit Kelvin Benjamin for TNF?
The Bills acquired Benjamin minutes before the trade deadline on Monday. We look at the fantasy impact.

Benjamin has struggled to live up to his phenomenal rookie season in 2014. He only has three games with more than 75 yards receiving and two touchdowns so far this season. Benjamin was third in targets and receptions, but led the Panthers in receiving yards through the first half of the season.
Fantasy impact: The Bills desperately needed help at receiver so the move for Benjamin makes sense. He will be a popular target for Bills QB Tyrod Taylor right away because the team is so strapped for pass catchers. Benjamin has struggled to bring in some catchable balls this season, and that will not change in Buffalo. He has a lot to learn before Thursday night, but he gets an easy first game as a Bill against the Jets. It may be a risky move, but Benjamin is always one big play away from a big game.
