Montgomery missed practice this week due to a lingering rib injury. This is a tough break for Montgomery, who was poised to become the Packers’ top running back yet again with Aaron Jones out with a knee injury. Jones suffered a knee injury against the Chicago Bears in Week 10 will keep him out 3-6 weeks.
That was the same game in which Montgomery got hurt, though the hope was he’d be back in the lineup by now. Seeing him not practice for two straight weeks doesn’t bode well for him being back in Week 13.
Fantasy Impact: With Montgomery likely out again, rookie Jamaal Williams should get the majority of touches in Week 12, though you should probably keep him on the bench against a strong Steelers defense. Montgomery can be safely dropped with his return date now up in the air.
