The Philadelphia Eagles got starting rusher LeGarrette Blount some help in the backfield Monday when they traded a future fourth-round draft pick to the Miami Dolphins for running back Jay Ajayi. Ajayi joins the Eagles as they get ready to host the Denver Broncos and their savage defense.
Fantasy football, Week 9: Start or sit LeGarrette Blount on Sunday?
Blount will have help in the Eagles backfield going forward with the acquisition of Jay Ajayi. We look at the fantasy impact.

Blount has been the top rusher in Philadelphia, sharing the running responsibilities with Wendell Smallwood for the majority of the season. Even as the feature back, Blount only has two rushing touchdowns and one 100-plus-yard rushing game this season. Blount did score Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, but he only rushed for 48 yards on his season-high 16 carries.
Fantasy impact: Blount has not been doing much in fantasy. You would think the acquisition of Ajayi would make his fantasy value tank, but Blount should not trail off too bad with Ajayi in the lineup. He is always a touchdown-or-bust back. Blount should get most of the goal-line snaps for the Eagles still. It will not be easy getting into the end zone this week against Denver, but there are still few offensive lines as good as Philadelphia’s.
