The Atlanta Falcons’ backup running back Tevin Coleman saw a big drop in production Sunday with the return of Devonta Freeman to the lineup. Coleman only had eight carries for 22 yards and added three catches for 27 yards in the loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Coleman had at least 19 touches in the three previous games while Freeman was in the NFL’s concussion protocol. Coleman also failed to score for the first time since Week 8.

Coleman will continue his normal backup duties against the New Orleans Saints in Week 14. Coleman can bounce back in the passing game. The Saints have given up the eighth-most yards receiving to running backs this season. Coleman averaged 74 yards from scrimmage and scored four times in two games against the Saints last season.
Fantasy impact: Coleman has a load of fantasy potential when Freeman was on the sideline. That is all gone now. Coleman still has flex potential as a pass-catching back, especially against the Saints Thursday night. However, owners should temper their expectations for the third-year RB.
