The Houston Texans have drafted quarterback Deshaun Watson with pick No. 12 in the 2017 NFL Draft. The Texans traded their first and a first round pick in 2018 to the Cleveland Browns to make the move up from No. 25. Watson joins Tom Savage and Brandon Weeden on the Texans depth chart.
2017 NFL draft results: Fantasy implications of Deshaun Watson to the Texans
The Houston Texans have drafted Deshaun Watson. We break down the fantasy implications

The big-armed gunslinger is coming off a national championship-winning season with Clemson, and he also finished as the Heisman runner-up to Lamar Jackson. Watson threw for 4,000-plus yards and 35-plus touchdowns in each of the past two seasons while also running for 1,734 yards and 21 scores during that span.
Watson isn’t afraid to make any throw, which is often his downfall, as evidenced by his 30 interceptions over the past two seasons. He has a long growing curve ahead of him, but Watson should develop into a solid starter down the line.
Fantasy Impact: Watson is a prospect with championship pedigree at Clemson. He has to work on his accuracy, but he enters a situation where he very well could earn a starting nod as a rookie. I think Savage is the initial starter, but I think we see Watson starting before any of the 2017 rookies. He’s not a one-year league option, but in keeper and dynasty leagues, he’s a great option.
