2017 NFL draft results: Fantasy implications of DeShone Kizer to the Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns have drafted quarterback DeShone Kizer in the 2017 NFL draft. We break down the fantasy implications.

Kizer threw for 2,925 yards and 26 touchdowns last season and has drawn comparisons to Carson Palmer in terms of physical ability and mental maturity. Kizer’s physical skills allowed the sophomore to leave Notre Dame with two years of eligibility remaining. But his mental toughness in holding off teammate Malik Zaire for the starting position this past season speaks to that maturity and should translate to the next level.
Fantasy impact: Kizer’s college coach thought he should have stayed another year to develop further. He is a long-term option that has a lot to work on. Playing in Cleveland means the QB job could be his sooner rather than later, but for the time being he is nothing more than a dynasty league stash. The Browns could shake things up and move him into the lineup more quickly than expected, but he’s just not an option in year one.
