2017 NFL draft: Fantasy implications of Marlon Mack to the Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts drafted running back Marlon Mack. We break down the fantasy implications.

The all-time USF rushing leader is one of the better “scat back” types in the draft. He’s a fluid runner who tends to break runs to the outside and can hit the next gear for long breakaway runs. Mack also lined up at wide receiver often at USF, making him one of the more complete threats in the draft despite not consistently showing the ability to break tackles.
He often lacks the power to run between the tackles, and he might find it difficult to break containment against speedier NFL defenses. His relatively small frame and tendency to run upright might lead him to take unnecessary punishment in the pros, but his playmaking ability and burst is undeniable.
Fantasy impact: Mack will not be a starter out of the gate, given Frank Gore’s durability. However, Gore is nearing the end of his career, and it makes sense for the Colts to ease his workload a little bit. Mack is likely to move past Turbin on the depth chart, but both are Gore handcuffs at best in 2017. Mack does not have a ton of initial value in keeper leagues but is a decent second-round option in deeper dynasty leagues.
