Kansas City Chiefs running back Spencer Ware is likely out for the season after tearing his PCL over the weekend, according to Terez Paylor of The Kansas City Star. Ware is expected to seek a second opinion.
Spencer Ware fantasy football season likely over due to torn PCL
Spencer Ware suffered a knee injury this past weekend. It’s being reported his season is over. We break down the fantasy implications.

Ware averaged just under 66 yards per game in 14 appearances for the Chiefs in 2017. He finished the season with five touchdowns and 1,368 total yards.
Fantasy impact: With ex-teammate Jamaal Charles now fighting for a roster spot with the Denver Broncos, Kareem Hunt will be the top option in Kansas City.
The Chiefs have always been a run-first team under coach Andy Reid and there’s no reason for that to change in 2017. Hunt would be a great wild card selection in the early-to-mid rounds of the draft. If he were a receiver it might be risky, but as a rusher he’ll get plenty of opportunities.
As for Ware, it looks like at best he’d come back halfway through the season should he get a radically optimistic second opinion. That seems highly unlikely, however. Fantasy owners should assume he’s done.
