Tavon Austin expected to be available to fantasy owners Week 1, despite hamstring ailment
The Rams’ most versatile pass catcher should be ready for Week 1. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: Though he’s exhibited flashes of athletic brilliance throughout his five-year career, Austin has never truly blossomed into a top-flight fantasy option. What makes this coming season tough is that now Austin is competing with Sammy Watkins for targets.
Watkins was acquired by the team earlier in August and now becomes the team’s best option in the passing game. As for Austin, he’ll have value in leagues that reward special teams play. He may also rack up receptions on slants while teams are busy covering Watkins.
Austin finished last season with career highs in catches and receiving yards, but it’s hard to imagine him ever being a regular fantasy contributor in 12-team leagues at this point in his career.
