Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco will start against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1. Unfortunately his status as a plug-and-play quarterback hasn’t changed in years, and 2017 won’t be any different.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 1: Joe Flacco
The Ravens gunslinger will be ready to play in Week 1. We break down the fantasy implications.

That’s true even though he threw for over 4,300 yards last season, a career high. Keep in mind that Flacco has never thrown for more than 27 touchdowns in a season. It’s a number that gets routinely eclipsed by the league’s elite every year. Hence why Flacco will always be in that second tier of fantasy quarterback.
Fantasy impact: It’s really hard to envision a scenario where Flacco puts up big numbers against the Bengals to start the season. He missed most of the preseason with a back injury. The only chance he has of putting up numbers on Sunday that rival the league’s top 10 passers is if he’s chasing Andy Dalton in the second half. Feel free to leave Flacco on the bench even though he’s set to start the game.
