The Texans’ QB controversy is over. The team announced Tuesday that rookie Deshaun Watson will take over under center for Tom Savage starting in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Fantasy Football start/sit advice, Texans vs. Bengals TNF: Deshaun Watson
The Texans will start their rookie quarterback against a tough defense in Week 2. We break down the fantasy impact.

Watson completed 12 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown with one interception in Sunday’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also had two carries for 16 yards and lost a fumble. The 12th overall pick played the second half after Savage was shut out in the first half and subsequently benched at halftime.
Fantasy impact: No one is surprised to see Watson take over the starting role in Houston. As he proved Sunday, Watson is the best QB on the Texans roster. Watson is versatile and has a strong arm; however, he is still a rookie and the cards are stacked against him. He did not get a chance to run the first-team offense a lot this preseason, so he is bound to struggle early. He will also be missing a few weapons Thursday as the Texans have starters in the concussion protocol.
