The Cincinnati Bengals have high hopes for wide receiver John Ross, whom they drafted with the No. 9 overall pick. Ross was an explosive deep threat at the University of Washington, with historic speed that should easily translate to the pros.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Bengals vs. Texans TNF: John Ross
Ross missed Week 1, but should be on track to make his NFL debut Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Unfortunately, one of Ross’ biggest knocks coming out of college was his extensive injury history, and that also followed him to the pros. He missed most of the offseason with shoulder surgery and picked up a knee injury in the preseason, forcing him to sit out Week 1.
Fantasy impact: Ross is practicing in full this week, but it’s hard to believe he’ll be a major factor on a short week when the Bengals play the Houston Texans Thursday. He hasn’t had much practice time since the draft and, from what we saw of him in the preseason, the Bengals could be planning to use him as a gadget player in the early going.
Recommendation: At best, Ross will be a clear-out deep threat working behind A.J. Green, Brandon LaFell, and Tyler Boys. Ross needs to stay healthy and pick up the offense before he can become a meaningful fantasy option.
