Jermaine Kearse joined the Jets on Sept. 1, seven days later, he was the top target for QB Josh McCown in the team’s first game of the season. Kearse caught seven passes on nine targets for 59 yards playing mostly in the slot. He led the Jets in targets, receptions and receiving yards having less than one week to learn the playbook.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 2: Jermaine Kearse
Kearse joined the Jets and made an instant impact, but does that make him fantasy relevant?

The Jets take on the Oakland Raiders Sunday. The Raiders held a pass-heavy Tennessee Titans offense in check Week 1. They gave up 256 passing yards in the game, but no passing touchdowns.
Fantasy impact: Kearse is the best healthy receiver on the Jets’ roster. It is no surprise he became McCown’s favorite target so quickly. However, this is still the Jets we are talking about. Being the best option in a bad offense does not instantly make Kearse fantasy relevant. In deep leagues, he might have some value, but he is essentially fantasy fool’s gold.
