The New England Patriots are in a bind in their receiving core. Desperate to fill voids, the team may look to running back Rex Burkhead to help out. Burkhead worked in the slot role quite a bit when he was a Cincinnati Bengal and he has always been highly regarded as a pass catcher. Burkhead only played 10 snaps in Week 1.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 2: Rex Burkhead
The Patriots are looking to fill voids in the passing game with Burkhead. Will that move boost his fantasy value?

New England lost most of their weapons in camp and now Danny Amendola is sidelined with a concussion and knee injury. The team now only has three healthy receivers available for Week 2 and one of them, Phillip Dorsett, just joined the Patriots a couple of weeks ago.
Fantasy impact: The Patriots will probably be desperate enough to line Burkhead up in the slot at some point in Week 2. Unfortunately, the Patriots are making no guarantees to utilize Burkhead in that position and that does not help his fantasy value. Burkhead barely saw action in the Patriots home opener and it does not look like he will get a lot more time on the field this week.
