New Raiders tight end Jared Cook opened up the season catching five passes for 56 yards in route to a win over the Tennessee Titans last Sunday. Cook helped stretch the field for Derek Carr averaging over 11 yards per catch in Nashville.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 2: Jared Cook
After a promising debut with the Raiders, here’s why Cook will build on his impressive performance in Week 2.

Oakland now has a bevy of weapons to throw at opposing defenses making them very tough to defend. Marshawn Lynch running behind that talented offensive line is going to bring more defenders into the box opening up 1v1 matchup’s for the wide receivers and tight ends. Pro Bowl Quarterback Derek Carr knows how to distribute the ball around and keep defenses off guard making the Raiders pretty unpredictable.
Fantasy Impact: The Raiders play the putrid Jets in Week 2 that offers a juicy matchup for Cook. If you are in a deeper league with few options at tight end, Cook should be looked at if you need a streaming option. Opposing teams will always go into the game focusing on Marshawn Lynch, Michael Crabtree, and Amari Cooper leaving Cook weaker defenders to pick on. The Raiders are going to put up many points on the Jets this week and Cook should be a huge cog in the win.
Recommendation: Start
