Pierre Garcon showed in the San Francisco 49ers season opening loss to the Carolina Panthers that he was the most talented wide receiver on their roster. The veteran caught six passes for 81 yards on 10 targets and will see that type of volume the majority of the season.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 2: Pierre Garcon
Despite a strong showing from Garcon in the 49ers opener, here is why you should keep him out of your lineup in Week 2.

Garcon has been productive his entire career ranking eighth in the NFL in targets since 2009, according to ESPN.com. His problem has been getting into the end zone. Garcon has never scored more than six times in a season his entire career, limiting his fantasy potential.
Fantasy Impact: There is no doubt Garcon has cemented himself as the 49ers No. 1 receiver but that comes with good and bad. Every week he is going to see 8-12 targets from Brian Hoyer but he is also going to draw the best coverage from opposing defenses. When the opposite defense is the Seattle Seahawks and the Legion of Boom, that doesn’t bode well for your odds of a good game. Especially when the 49ers have no one else on the offense that can draw coverage and win 1v1 consistently to take pressure off of Garcon. Garcon will most likely have a tough Sunday against the Seahawks elite secondary and should be no more than a flex going into this weekend.
Recommendation: Sit
