Jared Goff has made strides in his game from his rookie to sophomore season. Week 1 Goff blew up a depleted Indianapolis Colts defense for 306 yards and a touchdown. When Goff faces division rivals San Francisco 49ers Thursday night, things will not be a walk in the park. The 49ers have been fairy solid in passing defense, but they are missing starting safety, Eric Reid. The short week will also have an effect on Goff’s ability to prepare this week.
Fantasy impact: The Rams offense as a whole is a lot stronger this season. The addition of rookies Cooper Kupp and Gerald Everett bring a lot more weapons in the middle for Goff and Sammy Watkins can stretch out defenses as a deep threat. Goff is not slinging the ball down the field yet, but his short pass game keeps him a fantasy contender.
