The Los Angeles Rams revamped their offense in the offseason, hiring head coach Sean McVay to develop Jared Goff and signing wide receiver Robert Woods. While the team looks much improved through two games, it hasn’t quite translated into fantasy value for Woods.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Rams vs. 49ers TNF: Robert Woods
The Rams’ passing game still isn’t all that great. We break down the fantasy implications.

Woods signed a five-year deal with the Rams after spending his first four seasons with the Buffalo Bills, largely playing second fiddle to Sammy Watkins. So of course the Rams traded for Watkins in the preseason, once again reducing Woods’ ceiling. Goff also appears to be developing a connection with rookie Cooper Kupp. Woods has nine targets in the first two games, but turned those into just four catches for 61 yards.
Fantasy impact: The Rams face the San Francisco 49ers Thursday night. Their offense teed off on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1, but was largely held in check by Washington last Sunday. Goff is showing signs of progress, but he needs to prove that he can sustain more than one fantasy-relevant wide receiver. Woods is clearly the No. 3 target behind Watkins and Kupp, and might even be No. 4 behind Todd Gurley. Players in 12-team leagues can do better at their WR3/flex spot.
