When the New England Patriots lost wide receiver Julian Edelman to a torn ACL in the preseason, it was undoubtedly a setback for the team, but they have enough quality weapons that his loss shouldn’t be felt too hard. A player who figures to benefit is Chris Hogan.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Chiefs vs. Patriots TNF: Chris Hogan
Julian Edelman’s ACL injury opens up some more target opportunities for Hogan. We break down the fantasy implications.

Hogan signed with the Patriots last year and was mostly used as a deep threat, catching just 38 passes but averaging 17.9 yards per catch and scoring four touchdowns. He was set to play a larger role this year even before Edelman got hurt.
Fantasy impact: Now, Hogan is not a like-for-like replacement for Edelman — he plays more on the outside than in the slot, and it’s possible that Brandin Cooks or even James White occupies that role, However, Hogan showed a lot of chemistry with Tom Brady in the preseason and can take the top off defenses at any given moment. I like his upside against a Chiefs defense that allowed the 12th-most fantasy points to wide receivers last year.
Recommendation: Start
