Another hangs in the balance with six race weekends to go.
McLaren secured their second consecutive Constructors’ Championship Sunday at the Singapore Grand Prix, thanks to a third-place finish from Lando Norris and a fourth-place finish from Oscar Piastri. That moved McLaren to 650 points on the season, putting them out of reach of rivals Mercedes and Ferrari.
However, the Drivers’ Championship is still up for grabs.
Norris’ third-place finish pulled him within 22 points of his teammate, as Piastri remains in the lead with 336 points to the 314 for Norris.
But you cannot count out Max Verstappen. The Red Bull driver has a pair of wins since F1 returned from the Summer Shutdown, and is just 63 points behind Piastri, and 41 points behind Norris. With six grands prix remaining -- and three F1 Sprint races -- Verstappen remains alive in the title race.
Can he pull off the epic comeback? Will Norris pull off one of his own? Or will Piastri hold on down the stretch to secure the 2025 F1 Drivers’ Championship?
