When the 2026 Formula 1 season begins, the grid will have an 11th team as Cadillac joins the fray. However, the season will also see Audi embark on their own F1 journey, as the German manufacturer takes over Sauber as a new works operation.

Now, Audi has unveiled their incoming title partner.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Audi announced that Revolut, a “global fintech leader with over 60 million customers,” will join as the team’s title partner for the 2026 season. As part of this agreement, Audi and Revolut will “establish new ways for fans to interact with the sport during race weekends, with unique experiences for a new generation of motorsport enthusiasts and exclusive benefits for Revolut customers.”

In addition, Revolut Business “will be extensively integrated into the team’s financial operations.”

“Audi is entering Formula 1 with a clear ambition: to use the platform as a technologically relevant and economically sustainable investment in the future of the Audi brand,” said Gernot Döllner, the CEO of AUDI AG and Chairman of the Board of Sauber Motorsport AG.

“We firmly believe in the success of our project, which we are approaching with a realistic attitude and a mindset of continuous improvement. In Revolut, we have found a partner that shares our ambitions and attitude. Formula 1 is a global stage that offers us the opportunity to reach new target groups together and generate enthusiasm for our products.”

Jonathan Wheatley, the current Team Principal at Sauber and the future Team Principal of the Audi F1 Team, called the partnership a “strategic alliance” that will “challenge conventions” in the motorsport world.

“With Revolut, we have found a partner that shares our core ethos of innovation and relentless ambition,” said Wheatley. “This is more than a brand fit; it is a strategic alliance, engineered to challenge conventions in motorsport. From 2026, Revolut’s digital-first solutions will power key areas of our operations while also redefining how fans and communities engage with our team – delivering a seamless and engaging experience on and off the track.”

At the moment, Sauber sits sixth in the F1 Constructors’ Championship standings with 43 points, putting them on track for the team’s best season since the 2022 campaign, where they finished sixth with 55 points.

Driver Nico Hülkenberg also secured the team’s first podium since Kamui Kobayashi finished third in the 2012 Japanese Grand Prix, when Hülkenberg finished third at the British Grand Prix.

It was Hülkenberg’s first F1 podium, coming in his 239th start.
