Three drivers remain alive in the chase for the 2025 Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship.

But fans believe Lando Norris will be the one taking home the biggest trophy.

Over the second half of the season SB Nation has been periodically taking the pulse of F1 fans regarding what has become a thrilling three-way fight between Norris, Max Verstappen, and Oscar Piastri for the Drivers’ Championship. Ahead of the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix we asked that question one final time, and for the first time all year Norris was picked as the eventual winner by fans:

As you can see, Norris edged out Verstappen in the vote, 53% to 44%. Piastri, who faces the longest odds of taking home the title, finished third with 3% of the vote.

Norris leads the way with 408 points ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, 12 points ahead of Verstappen, who is in second with 396. Piastri, who led the championship race for much of the season, is in third with 392 points.

Of the three drivers, Norris is the only one who controls his destiny in the season’s final race. With a finish on the podium, Norris will win his first Drivers’ Championship, regardless of where Verstappen and Piastri finish. Norris can still win the Championship if he finishes off the podium, but would then need some help from his rivals.

While Verstappen might have the momentum coming into Abu Dhabi, and Norris has the lead, Piastri has a bit of history in his corner. The first time three drivers went into the final race of an F1 season to decide the title was in 1950, and it was the driver in third place, Giuseppe Farina from Alfa Romeo, who took home the championship.

The last time we asked readers this question, following Verstappen’s sweep of the United States Grand Prix, readers picked the Red Bull driver to secure his fifth Drivers’ Championship:

We’ll see if the readers were correct come Sunday.
