Today we are excited to roll out a new notifications system across the entire SB Nation network.
SB Nation’s new notification system
Users across our communities write millions of comments and we hope this will make it easier to follow and participate in conversations.
What to know
- You will receive alerts to all of your posts and comments in one place – the new bell icon at the top right of every page
- You can also view all of your notifications on a dedicated page at /notifications (e.g. bigblueview.com/notifications)
- Notifications work across the SB Nation network and show you which community a notification is from
- You can manage your notification preferences in your account settings (choose to receive only post or comment alerts)
- This new system replaces the notifications that existed only within Coral comments
- The mobile Mark all as read and Next unread buttons were updated for this new system and to better handle recent OS changes.
Note: As part of the transition all notifications have been marked as unread back to the beginning of Monday, so you may initially have comment notifications you’ve already seen.
Coming soon
- In the coming weeks we will be adding REC notifications as well. Similar to replies, you’ll be able to manage your preferences for what you do and don’t want to receive.
- By popular request REC background colors will be coming to The Feed. These will use the same community settings as article comments.
- Expanded user profiles that allow you to see all of your activity in one place.
- Additional Fanpost migrations
- Candidly we had hoped to have completed this by now, but it is in progress. More historical Fanposts will be appearing on The Feed.

- Many updates to The Feed, including:
- An advanced editor that’s better for writing longer posts (available at /post/new on any community, e.g. truebluela.com/post/new)
- Most Rec/Most Replies filters
- Editing replies
- Hyperlinking and sarcasm/strikethrough text
- Additional embed support including Instagram and TikTok
- Avatar uploads in your account settings
- Full article archives for every community at /archives/full (e.g. mmafighting.com/archives/full)
