Sam GreenwoodEntering Sunday’s final round, ten golfers are within three strokes of Charlie Beljan, who leads the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic at 13-under par. Beljan is still playing, despite suffering an anxiety attack on Friday that caused him to spend Friday night in the hospital. However, to his credit, Beljan came out on Saturday and shot a 1-under 71 to keep himself in the lead.
Hot on Beljan’s heels, though, is a large pack of golfers, many of whom put up nice scores on Saturday. Brian Gay and Josh Teater sit at 11-under par, and both of them shot 5-under 67s in the third round. Robert Garrigus and Camilo Villegas headline a group of players sitting three strokes back at 10-under par.

Luke Donald came into the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic atop the PGA Tour money list, and capped his year with an exclamation point on Sunday in Florida. Donald didn’t just win the money list title: he won the final tournament of the year, beating the field by two strokes. Donald’s final round 64 was the the low round of the day, and brought him from behind for the tournament win.
Justin Leonard, who entered the final round tied for the lead, carded a 1-under 71 and finished in second at 15-under for the tournament. Tom Pernice Jr., Sunghoon Kang and Kevin Chappell finished in a tie for third at 14-under.

The first round of the 2011 Chidren’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic didn’t do much in the way of field separation, but three players did finally break away in the second round. Justin Leonard, Kim Bio and Henrik Stenson lead the way at 12-under, two shots clear of the rest of the field. The three will tee-off together on Saturday, playing in the final group of the day.

Scores were low again on Friday as the field took to the course in the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic in Florida. After the first round produced a logjam at the top of the leaderboard, the second spread things out a bit, with low scores abound heading into the weekend. Justin Leonard, Bio Kim and Henrik Stenson are tied for the lead, and have a bit of breathing room over the rest of the field.
The three leaders hold a two shot advantage over Nick O’Hern, who sits alone in fourth at 10-under for the tournament. Michael Allen, Matt Bettancourt and Gary Woodland are one shot back of O’Hern, at 9-under for the tournament in a tie for fifth.

Donald is at 6-under for the tournament, but is joined by six others. There’s little breathing room, either, with seven more players lying in wait, one shot off the lead. After one round, 42 players are three or fewer shots back, with nobody separating themselves as of now.
