Joe Posnanski On The Masters And Sad Hecklers Everywhere

Joe Posnanski hammers The Masters well enough in his blog post on the Tara Sullivan matter from this weekend, but keep reading past the bit about Augusta National’s cro-magnon policies regarding women and the universe as a whole and you’ll get a sudden left hand turn into a discussion of internet commentary, and the often repellent things people leave beneath blog posts.

↵↵I’m not sure what it is about comments that can bring out such terrible words from people. Anonymity, maybe? The ease of typing?

↵↵Welcome to internet, Joe. We would recommend reading up on Eternal September, and then remember that people on the internet are not to be considered full-fledged humans until they act like it. Until then, there’s always deleting comments and continuing to be smart, the best defenses against mean, stupid people swamping your blog’s comment threads. (P.S. As has been the rule since 1993, don’t feed the trolls.)
