Crowne Plaza Invitational Leaderboard: Charlie Wi Charges Past Slumping David Toms

When David Toms began his third round of the Crowne Plaza Invitational, he enjoyed a massive seven-stoke lead. Saturday was not as kind to him as Thursday and Friday were, however, and as a result, Toms finds himself looking up at Charlie Wi on the leaderboard.

Toms struggled with the same holes he dominated in the first and second rounds. He finished 2-over on the front nine, committed a double bogey on the 14th hole, and finished 4-over for the day. This was a dramatic regression for Toms, who had shot 8-under in each of his first two rounds.

Meanwhile, Wi put together a respectable 4-under to creep past Toms and take the top spot on the leaderboard. Wi, age 39, has yet to win a PGA Tour event.

Here is how the top of the leaderboard looks entering the final round of action.

1. Charlie Wi (-13)
2. David Toms (-12)
3. John Senden (-9)
T4. Stuart Appleby (-8)
T4. Paul Goydos
T4. Mark Wilson
T7. D.J. Trahan (-7)
T7. Brian Gay
T7. Marc Leishman
T7. Rory Sabbatini
T7. Steven Bowditch
