With the majority of the golf world sitting out of this weekend’s Valero Texas Open, the top three finishers at the event were able to bump themselves up the leaderboard.
PGA Money List 2012: John Huh Enters Top 20 After Second-Place Finish
The golf world might not have heard of John Huh: the 21-year old earned his spot on the PGA Tour in 2011 Q-School and only has one PGA Tour title under his belt. But with a win earlier in the year in the Mayakoba Golf Classic made him the second-highest on the money list to compete in San Antonio. Now, with a second place finish, Huh has himself in 13th on the standings, up from 21st, having earned $1,189,980 on the season.
The tournament’s winner, Ben Curtis, was way down on the money list in 183rd place. His first tour win since 2006 vaulted him 130 slots on the standings, as his he made $1,116,000 after having earned less than $60,000 up to date on the season. Matt Every, who finished tied with Huh for second, moved up 30 spots to 25th place.
