2012 British Open Leaderboard: Tiger Woods Alone In Third Again

Tiger Woods has a ways to go to get to the top of the 2012 British Open leaderboard. But he’s staying at the head of the pack chasing Brandt Snedeker and Adam Scott.

A birdie on the par-4 16th hole at Royal Lytham & St. Annes got Tiger back to 2-under for the day and 5-under for the tournament, cancelling out a bogey on the par-5 11th. It was also Woods’ first birdie on a back nine hole at the Open Championship this week, which may help him build confidence on that rough stretch of holes heading into the weekend.

Tiger has plenty of work to do to catch Snedeker, who sits at 10-under after two rounds, and Scott, who is 9-under. But if he can continue tearing up the front nine — Woods is 6-under on the first seven Royal Lytham holes through two rounds — he may be able to make a run at the leaders and apply some pressure.
